Many people have been able to sell their homes successfully, but it can be quite a challenge. There are many good reasons not to attempt it. As a licensed sales agent and REALTOR®, please allow me to offer some useful suggestions and advice. I only ask that should you reconsider and decide to engage a broker (as most finally do) that you give me an opportunity to represent you in this process. I won’t call you, unless you contact me. But please consider the following; 1) Be sure that you WANT this experience and be prepared to WORK! Get VERY organized. Managing the paper work and the paper trail can be time consuming and stressful but is essential. Pay attention to dates and deadlines.
2) Keep the deal on track. Few folks have the expertise, patience and contacts to shepherd all the elements of a transaction required to get from the offer to a successful closing. Follow up on EVERYTHING!
4) Be prepared for red herrings and unplanned disruptions to your personal life. And be SECURITY conscious! You will be opening your life and your family’s home up to unknown and unscreened people.
5) You should also know that ALL sellers of real estate in Maine (whether represented by an agent or not) are required to fully disclose certain information about the property for sale. I refer you to Maine statute Title 33, Chapter 7, Conveyance of Real Estate for more information. Rules for Conveyance of Real Estate

7) Why use a REALTOR after all?
Will you be looking to buy again in the area? If so I hope you will consider interviewing me to be your buyers' agent. Advice for Buyers I hope you find this information helpful and, Remember! To be a Successful Seller you must look at your home as a Savvy Buyer! Good Luck as you go Forward.
